Eddie Jones reviews where Japan needs to head

Excellent article from http://www.asahi.com/ with Eddie Jones, England Manager reviewing his England success, Japan’s national team and culture. Looking at the success he’s had with England and what now needs to happen with Japan, Jones once again displayed his finger on the pulse of world rugby.

Eddie Jones was asked what does Japan have to do in 2017…

eddie_jones_rugby“They’ve got a lot of work to do, quite clearly. There are a number of players that have retired and a number of players that have lost interest in playing for the national team and they’ve got to bring young guys through and those young guys are a long way away from international standard. We saw that when they played Argentina. There’s a big gap between Japan and a tier one country.”

He also gives a qualified response to how Japan needs to invest in its national team to inspire a new generation of players, also invest in club facilities and coaches. To find out more visit http://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/AJ201612280003.html
