Betting tips for the Japan Rugby World Cup 2019

I like a little flutter on a big sporting event and in my book the 2019 Rugby World Cup offers a perfect opportunity to review the form and put down a few quid on a couple of outsiders.

I had a look at Bet365.com and it was interesting to see who the UK’s leading betting platform had down for winning the cup.

Already New Zealand are hot favourites, followed closely by Ireland, England and South Africa, however I can’t help thinking even at 8/1 South Africa is certainly worth a bet, plus Wales (14/1) and Australia (12/1) both have an excellent chance of getting out of the group rounds and getting to the Semi-finals.

I’m a great believer that once you get to the Semi-finals in any world cup, its anyone’s game. I’ve seen great teams choke at the world cup, including New Zealand, Australia and England who all choked against opposition they would normally beat every week. Then you have teams like France, Japan and South Africa who have all caused major upsets…the field is more open than anyone could imagine.

So if you are planning to have a flutter, don’t just support your home team, back a dark horse like Australia or Wales, as those odds could offer a great return.

Don’t forget if you love betting on individual matches, then I feel Japan vs Scotland/Samoa, Argentina vs France and even USA vs Argentina could provide some interesting upsets.
